Boys Boarding

Boys Boarding House Parents

My name is Simon Bird and I look after the boys with my wife, Fabienne. We live with our two young children in our “nest” right at the heart of the house and are at hand every day of the week to make sure the boys are happy, safe and getting the most out of boarding life.

Being a boarder is a hugely rewarding and formative experience, not just for the boys themselves but also for members of staff who are fortunate enough to be involved in this aspect of their education. Driving every successful boarding community is a tangible sense of family, as well as all the connotations that are encapsulated in that word: happiness, security, respect and expectation, to name but a few. More than anything, boarding is about getting stuck in and about making the very most of all the opportunities that are on offer here at Brambletye, be they academic, co-curricular or social. As Houseparents, we see it very much as our role to encourage the boys to be courageous, to step outside their comfort zone and to embrace the busy and exciting ethos of the school.

Thank you for showing an interest in our boarding house – I would be delighted to meet you in person and show you around the boys’ home from home.
