Bursaries

Brambletye, founded in 1919, receives no financial support from the Government.  To cover our costs and generate a surplus, all of which is invested back in the School, parents are charged a termly fee for the education provided.  However, the school governors are able to offer bursarial support to some families that would otherwise be unable to send their children to Brambletye without assistance.

A small number of Bursaries are made available each year to children entering Year 3 or above, of up to 100% of the basic fee for the duration of a child’s time at Brambletye.  These Bursaries are in place to assist families who otherwise would not be able to consider a Brambletye education. There are two conditions that must be satisfied before any offer can be made.  The children must show good academic and all round potential and parents must be able to demonstrate a genuine need for the financial assistance that is being offered.

To ensure criteria are met, an Assessment Day will take place each year in the Spring term to assess potential candidates for their suitability for the School.  It should be stressed that there is not a competitive element involved in this but it is important that the School is confident that any potential bursary candidates are able to fully access the School’s curriculum.

The application process initially involves completing a Bursary Application form, Confidential Statement of Financial Circumstances, a recommendation letter from the child’s current Headmaster and a covering letter.

Applications for September 2025 admissions should be submitted no later than 20th January 2025.

A Bursary assessment day will be held in Spring Term 2025.
