VISION & VALUES

Our Vision

To prepare our pupils for a rapidly changing world by encouraging curiosity, promoting perseverance and kindness, and embracing diversity within a school that values a joyful childhood.

Our Values

At Brambletye, our motto—Work Hard, Play Hard & Be Kind—doesn’t just influence our ethos; it defines it. These values shape every aspect of school life, guiding how we learn, how we compete, and how we treat one another. These principles form the foundation of their character, shaping them into individuals who approach every challenge with determination, embrace opportunities with enthusiasm, and treat others with respect and compassion.

Work Hard

Working hard means showing commitment to learning and giving our best effort in all that we do. We believe that by working hard, pupils not only make progress and achieve their goals, but also develop the habits and character that will serve them well throughout life.

What does working hard look like?

  • Striving for the highest standards in classwork and prep

  • Approaching school life with curiosity, confidence and a positive mindset

  • Embracing challenges with enthusiasm

  • Responding to setbacks with resilience and perseverance

  • Listening to feedback and using it as an opportunity to reflect and improve

Play Hard

We believe wholeheartedly in the value of play. Playing hard is about embracing joy, creativity and adventure. It’s also about learning how to work with others, how to lead, and how to lose with grace and win with humility.

What does playing hard look like?

  • Showing dedication to co-curricular life, even when faced with challenge or uncertainty

  • Making the most of the opportunities to explore, imagine and create in our extraordinary setting

  • Forming lasting friendships through shared experience and fun

  • Representing the House or School with pride — whether in sport, music, drama or academic competitions

Be Kind

Kindness lies at the heart of the Brambletye community. Being kind means treating others with empathy and respect, caring for ourselves, and considering the world around us. It is through kindness that friendships are forged, communities flourish, and young people grow into thoughtful and compassionate adults.

What does being kind look like?

  • Creating a warm and inclusive community where everyone feels they belong

  • Supporting one another in times of success and difficulty

  • Recognising the importance of service and helping others

  • Listening to and respecting views that may differ from our own

  • Caring for our own wellbeing and showing responsibility for the environment
