Safer Recruitment at Brambletye

Brambletye is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. As part of this commitment, we follow a rigorous safer recruitment process for all appointments. This process is designed to deter, identify, or reject individuals who may pose a risk to children or who are otherwise unsuitable to work with them.

All applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening, including checks with previous employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Online Checks

As part of our shortlisting process, Brambletye will carry out online checks on all shortlisted candidates. These searches form part of our safeguarding due diligence. Support Staff Vacancies

Nursery Practitioner (Maternity Cover) - May 2026 Start

Wanted: A Sandpit Diplomat and Forest Explorer to Join Our Nursery Team

If you believe that the best classrooms have no walls and that a Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification is essentially a license to be a professional superhero, we would love to hear from youNestled in the stunning Ashdown Forest, Brambletye isn’t just a school; it’s a 300-strong family where kindness is our currency and the Work Hard, Play Hard, Be Kind ethos is woven into everything we do.

We are looking for a fantastic Nursery Practitioner to cover a maternity leave from 20th May to 3rd July 2026, with the potential to stay on for the autumn term.  You’ll be the right-hand person to our Room Leaders, helping our tiniest pupils navigate everything from personal hygiene to the high-stakes world of sandpit diplomacy…..it would also help if you have a genuine love for the outdoors (plus if you know your way around a Forest School, that’s a massive win!).

International Gap Assistant at Brambletye School

Our International Gap Assistants join us on a one year contract every January and are key members of the school community. An integral part of the Gap Assistant’s role is bringing their life experiences for our pupils to learn and benefit from, to broaden their horizons and to be excellent role models.

As a Gap Assistant you will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Leadership qualities.
  • To be a role model to our pupils by being hardworking, reliable and punctual, demonstrating honesty and integrity at all times, smart in appearance, support the aims of the School.
  • To develop and maintain appropriate relationships with both staff and pupils.

The role of Gap Assistant at Brambletye School is far from routine with no two days being the same. In order to be successful in this post you will need to:

  • Possess a real interest in children, particularly in their welfare and education.
  • Be prepared to be flexible in your approach to work.
  • Work hard and be adaptable.
  • Exercise enthusiasm and show initiative.
