Music

All pupils – from Plums Class in Nursery through to Year 2 – enjoy a weekly music lesson taught by a specialist music teacher. Our carefully sequenced music curriculum begins in the Pre-Prep and continues throughout the school, placing musical literacy and singing at its heart.

Many children from Reception to Year 2 also choose to learn a musical instrument. Supported by our outstanding Music Department, pupils have the opportunity to explore a variety of instruments, including the violin, ukulele, and piano; we even have a harpist among our Pre-Prep pupils!

Pre-Prep Music Week is a highlight of the year, celebrating a wide range of musical genres and instruments. Performances by pupils from both Pre-Prep and Prep – and even musical parents – make it a truly joyful and inspiring event.

Music is woven into the fabric of Pre-Prep life, from Harvest Festival to Carols Around the Tree, and culminating in our Summer Concert, where music brings the Pre-Prep community together in celebration.
