This year’s school charity, The Huracan Foundation, has a balloon as its emblem. This inspired Mr Purcell’s enterprising tutor group to run a hot air balloon contest in order to raise funds for Huracan. 18 teams entered balloons which they designed and made in their free time.  The flights were launched in breaktime and the winning balloon remained airborne for 30+ seconds.  Not only did they have  lots of fun, they raised £490 for the charity. See the video link below for the children’s coverage of the event.
