Many congratulations to Archie, who has been awarded both a Design & Technology scholarship and a Drama scholarship to Worth School.
Archie enjoyed the challenge of sitting for the Worth Design and Technology Scholarship. His zest for life attitude and enthusiasm were clearly reflected in the work within his portfolio, which showcased a range of traditional design methods, contemporary computer-aided design, and outstanding use and development of ideas using Photoshop. Independent trips to NASA, The Design Museum, and the White Cube Gallery supported his research into key artists and designers.
Archie’s practical work shone during his interview, ranging from a two-piece typographic chair to computer-manufactured iPhone stands, which he kindly donated to last year’s Charity Art Auction. Worth’s Deputy Headmaster spoke highly of Archie in his post-scholarship report:
“Archie performed well in his Design and Technology Scholarship assessment and interview. He gave articulate answers, demonstrated his passion for the subject, and during the design challenge, he gave great thought and created Space Crisps, which were fantastic.”
Many congratulations, Archie! Mr H.
When it comes to Theatre at Brambletye, I am hard pressed to find someone as committed and enthusiastic as Archie. It therefore came to me as no surprise that Worth had offered him their highly sought after Drama scholarship and I couldn’t think of a better and more deserving winner. No matter the role, Archie gives his full enthusiasm and bursting energy at all times. From his more comical role as Dr. Grimwig in our recent production of ‘Oliver!’ to his early productions here of ‘Lola’s Gold’, Archie’s hard work and determination knows no bounds. On top of this, Archie has received multiple distinctions in both LAMDA and Trinity examinations, has seen countless professional productions and has also squeezed in Drama academy work on the weekends – phew!
Worth are so very lucky to have you, Archie, and I wish you all the best. Mrs Johnson.
