This week was Centenary week and all lessons and learning evolved around the theme of 100.  The children loved hearing  the story of  Brambletye’s beginnings and  the charismatic  Reverend John  Blencowe who played for Everton,  survived being  buried alive and  was shipwrecked on a desert island before establishing  Brambletye with his rescuer, Captain Sinker.  They’ve made timelines, designed new school logos, and learned about inflation of the price of sweets to name just a few activities.  The week culminated with the fantastic performance  of the Centenary musical  “Beauty and the Beast” which was attended by John’s son and former headmaster, Peter Blencowe and his wife.  We very much hope that  John would have been proud of the school which he created 100 years ago .
