We are incredibly proud of our U13 Boys’ Hockey team, who have finished 3rd in the National Finals! An outstanding achievement that places Brambletye as the top fully independent prep school for boys’ hockey in the country.

While this national success is worthy of celebration, it also reflects something deeper about how sport is approached at the school. Brambletye was recently named The Week’s Best School for Sport 2025, recognition of a programme that is intentionally values-driven and carefully structured to develop character as deliberately as it develops performance.

At the heart of our sports programme is the Four Corners model, through which pupils are developed technically, tactically, physically and psychologically. This holistic approach helps pupils grow into confident young sportspeople who learn as much about teamwork, leadership and decision-making as they do about executing skills on the field.

A core principle of sport at Brambletye is that breadth and excellence must coexist. As a result, the school invests the same care and attention in its Colts D teams as it does in its 1st teams. Every child is given the opportunity to experience high-quality coaching, meaningful challenge and, above all, the joy of participation in sport.

When this kind of inclusive and ambitious sporting culture is embedded across an entire school community, remarkable things can happen. Teams grow in confidence, pupils thrive, and schools like Brambletye are able to punch well above their weight on the national stage.

Huge congratulations go to our players and to the outstanding Brambletye Sports Department, whose dedication continues to create such opportunities for pupils. Special recognition also goes to our Head of Hockey, Will Denny, whose leadership and passion have helped build a hockey programme where values, participation and excellence go hand in hand.
