We are delighted to announce that an impressive £37,775 has been raised for Family2Family, thanks to the generous support of pupils, families, and staff. The funds will have a significant impact, providing essential resources and services to vulnerable families across Sussex. Our Head Boy and Head Girl handed over the cheque to Liz Lewis from Family2Family, who said it was “the biggest single donation we have EVER received” in a recent Instagram post

Looking ahead, we are excited to introduce our charity partner for 2024/2025: The Fundo Foundation. Brambletye pupils selected this relatively new charity, co-founded by Mrs Selleck. The Fundo Foundation works to improve education and provide essential resources for children in Uganda, where access to education is limited by overcrowded classrooms, lack of supplies, and financial barriers to secondary school.

In 2023, Mrs Selleck visited Fundo Primary School and saw first-hand the challenges the children face. During a rugby game with local pupils, she and her team realised the school’s water tank was dry, leaving the children without water in the heat of the African sun. This experience inspired the creation of the Fundo Foundation, with a mission to raise educational standards, provide clean drinking water, and create opportunities for children to continue their education beyond primary school.

Commenting on the school’s selection of the Fundo Foundation, Mrs Selleck said:

“We are over the moon that Brambletye has chosen the Fundo Foundation as the school charity for 2024/5. Our fundraising is focused on improving teaching and learning facilities at Fundo Primary School and sponsoring children to attend secondary school. We work closely with local partners to ensure our efforts make a tangible difference in the community.”

As a school, we are eager to begin fundraising and continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of these children. Let’s break another Brambletye record!
