Mrs O’Gara and Mrs Thorne have recently completed their Forest School training with the Sussex Wildlife Trust, gearing up for the exciting launch of Brambletye’s certified Forest School this coming September. Their comprehensive training covered a wide array of practical outdoor skills such as sawing, fire safety, outdoor cooking, and den building – essential tools that will enrich the nature-based learning experiences for our pupils.
The introduction of Forest School at Brambletye underscores our dedication to the well-documented benefits of outdoor education. Engaging with nature not only supports children’s physical and emotional development but also fosters resilience, curiosity, and important life skills including problem-solving, teamwork, and independent thinking.
We eagerly anticipate welcoming our pupils to Forest School this autumn, where education will extend beyond the traditional classroom into the heart of our woodland environment, under open skies and through the rhythms of the seasons.
