Many congratulations to Saoirse, who has been awarded an Art Scholarship to Ardingly.
Saoirse is a truly well-rounded creative talent. She draws to a very high standard, has mastered the complex discipline of drypoint etching, producing beautiful prints of anatomical horses in motion, and her canvas paintings demonstrate a natural ability to develop ideas thoroughly, moving with confidence from dry to wet media.
Her calm and sophisticated approach to her preparation over the past two years has been exemplary. Mistakes have been made, rectified, and edited — and through this process, she has learned a great deal, making outstanding progress across the broad range of disciplines covered.
Her exam drawing and portfolio earned her a well-deserved joint second place in the Ardingly Art Scholarship ranking, in what was a highly competitive field. Claire Grover, Head of Art at Ardingly, once again thanked us for sending another outstanding young artist.
