Many congratulations to Mariella, who has been awarded an Art Scholarship to Woldingham School.
Mariella‘s digital portfolio consisted of sound observational drawing, creative and imaginative paintings with a focus on portraits, ceramics based on Anatomy, photography using the dark room to compose her own photogramms, and her self-initiated specialism 3-dimensional design and Sculpture. Mariella‘s sculptures are personal, thoroughly researched looking at the work of Anthony Gormley, and her responses using mixed-media are exceptional. Her ‘View through a window’ exam piece was executed to the highest level using the Mathematical process of adding, blending, and subtracting marks. Sometimes the quietest of artists have a lot to say through their Art, and in Mariella‘s case her portfolio speaks volumes about her love and passion for Fine Art, Sculpture, and Design and Technology. Knowing Tracy Emin, who facetimed us at the White Cube gallery during our recent trip, will be proud of this outcome as I am.
Well done, Mariella! Mr H
