Many congratulations to Isabella, who has been awarded an Art Scholarship to Uppingham.
Isabella began her Art and Design journey way back in Year 6, when she first joined Brambletye. She was immediately recognised as a gifted and talented artist with huge potential. She immersed herself in the varied creative options on offer, exploring Anatomy, Still Life, Portraits, and Design/Technology modules with a genuinely investigative, mathematical mindset.
Her drawings are of an exceptionally high standard, executed using a mathematical process of adding, blending, and subtracting marks – a technique that reflects her ambition to discover her voice through Art. Her Design work is also highly impressive and demonstrates a true passion for freehand design, which she has translated into impressive final outcomes in wood and ceramics.
I feel honoured to announce that Isabella came first in a competitive field of 11 potential Art Scholars to win the Uppingham Art Scholarship 2025. Well done, Isabella! Mr H.
