Many congratulations to Maya, who has been awarded not one but two scholarships to Thomas’s!
Maya has proven herself to be a great asset to the Drama department since her arrival to Brambletye in the last few years. Although her career here has been far too short, her wonderful performance as Widow Corney in our recent production of ‘Oliver!’ will be remembered for years to come due to her excellent comic timing and performance skills. With a real passion for film, Maya’s self-tapes have shown just what a well rounded performer she is and I have no doubt she will go on to do great things in the future. It comes as no surprise therefore that she has been awarded the Masters Award for Drama at Thomas’ and I wish Maya the very best of luck as she moves on to her next adventure. Following a demanding assessment process, Maya has deservedly been awarded a Master’s Extraordinary Award for Art. This scholarship recognises Maya’s evident passion and outstanding creative potential. It is Thomas’s most prestigious award, granted only to a select group of individuals who are truly exceptional in their field.
The Director of Art praised Maya’s exceptional portfolio, which is currently on display in the ‘H’ Block for all to appreciate.
This is a remarkable achievement, and the Art Department is extremely proud of Maya’s progress since joining us in January 2024. Her hard work, both in and out of timetabled lessons, has paid off. Well done, Maya. Mr H.
