The challenge was set in 2020 and our task was to plan and build a bridge to cross the Thames. Tower bridge had collapsed due to high water from global warming and an earthquake.

We started building with K’nex and made two towers. They had to be strong to carry the load of the motor which opened the bridge.

It was difficult getting the mechanism sorted. Finally the bridge lifted up – Success!

The bridge is finished all working and looking good, the team is confident.

Brambletye’s bridge came third in the competition. There were twelve teams entered.
