CRICKET fans across the country revelled in England's Ashes recent victory.
But, for one schoolboy, the occasion was extra special. A Year 7 pupil, was the official mascot for the England cricket team during the match at Lord's. He said: "My highlight was walking out onto the centre crease for the coin toss with Andrew Strauss and Ricky Pointing (England and Australia captains)."
The mascot was given a signed cricket bat with signatures from the whole England team, a tour of the cricket ground, and a chance to meet the players. The pupil has been an avid fan and player of cricket for four years. He added: "I also got to keep the England kit I changed into. "One thing's for sure, I'm going to look after that signed bat."
