In our large, purpose built Nursery Area we cater for the needs of our youngest children. Here our qualified and experienced staff provide a happy, caring environment where your son or daughter can feel special and secure as they begin their school life.
At Brambletye children can begin Nursery when they are 2.5 years old. Their days are split into a morning and an afternoon session
Morning 8:15am/8.45am- 12:45pm
Afternoon 12:50pm – 3:15pm
All children attending the morning session will receive a hot lunch in the Nursery.
Whenever possible we look to be flexible about the number of sessions that you feel your child is ready to attend, this will of course be affected by availability and the agreement of the Nursery teacher and Head of Pre-Prep.
The Nursery classroom opens onto their colourful, well-equipped playground which they share with the Reception children during the Autumn and Spring Terms. Here they have access to a large sand pit and climbing frame, a growing area, a Wendy House and a multitude of outdoor toys and vehicles.
Sturdy ‘Muddy Puddles’ outdoor suits and wellies ensure that they make full use of their outside space and exciting nature walks in the school grounds are a regular occurance. The establishment of ‘School in the Woods’ ensures all kinds of ‘adventures’ and activities come rain, shine or snow and finishing with a mug of hot chocolate is what school memories are made of!
THE CURRICULUM
In our bright and colourful classroom children follow the National Foundation stage Curriculum which provides six areas of learning
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Communication, Language and Literacy
Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy
Knowledge and Understanding of the World
Physical Development
Creative Development`
Young children have a natural curiosity and enthusiasm which is a delight to behold and a privilege to work alongside. At Brambletye we have the expertise, staff ratio and environment to ensure that your child retains their individuality as they begin to develop an awareness of the world around them and come to understand that the people around them may have different needs to their own.
We aim to ensure that every child is made to feel happy, secure, valued and confident as they begin their ‘educational journey’ with us.
