Safeguarding at Brambletye

The school adopts a rigorous safer recruitment process which is strictly adhered to in the appointment of all new members of staff, and is designed to help deter, reject, or identify people who may cause harm to children or who are otherwise unsuited to work with them.  Brambletye School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  Applicants must undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

Visiting Music Teacher (Bassoon) - Flexible Start Date

We seek a skilful and experienced Bassoon Teacher who has the willingness and enthusiasm to be part of a busy and forward-thinking Music Department to join us here at Brambletye.  We can offer a flexible start date, but we are looking for someone to join us no later than the beginning of the Autumn term 2024.

The successful applicant will be an experienced musician and teacher, passionate about music-making, and have the ability to inspire young musicians.

  • Visiting Music Teachers at Brambletye are responsible for their own timetable and sourcing of resources and repertoire but will be fully supported in their work by our Director of Music.
  • Visiting Music Teachers set their own hourly rates and have direct contact with parents, a small charge is payable in exchange for the support of the School in their work.

UK Gap Assistant - Autumn Term 2024 Start

We are looking to appoint a UK-based Gap Assistant to join us for our Autumn Term 2024 (from September to December).

If you have a real interest in children, particularly their welfare and education, are prepared to work hard (no two days are the same), be part of a close-knit team, enjoy new challenges, and be fully involved with life at Brambletye….then we would love to hear from you.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for someone who has plans in the new year e.g. travelling, but would like to earn money, learn new skills, and gain great work and life experiences in the meantime, in a vibrant, supportive, and caring work environment.

Gap Assistant at Brambletye School

Our Gap Assistants join us on a one year contract every January and are key members of the school community. An integral part of the Gap Assistant’s role is bringing their life experiences for our pupils to learn and benefit from, to broaden their horizons and to be excellent role models.

As a Gap Assistant you will be expected to demonstrate:

  • Leadership qualities.
  • To be a role model to our pupils by being hardworking, reliable and punctual, demonstrating honesty and integrity at all times, smart in appearance, support the aims of the School.
  • To develop and maintain appropriate relationships with both staff and pupils.

The role of Gap Assistant at Brambletye School is far from routine with no two days being the same. In order to be successful in this post you will need to:

  • Possess a real interest in children, particularly in their welfare and education.
  • Be prepared to be flexible in your approach to work.
  • Work hard and be adaptable.
  • Exercise enthusiasm and show initiative.
  • Be a team player.
  • Be willing to help out and get stuck in.
