Brambletye was delighted to welcome three visiting schools for the 2011 Adventure on Thursday 5th May: The weather was kind and allowed the groups of twelve Year 4 pupils to test out their survival skills necessary for the challenges of life on a desert island. Tracking skills were carried out in the woods, look-out towers were built in the DT lab and substances were tested for the safety for their food content in the Science laboratory. There was even time to learn the art of African drumming in the hope that a rescue message might be relayed. To round off the day the schools divided into two teams to try their hand at constructing a makeshift shelter – with variable degrees of success. By the end of the afternoon everyone had enjoyed themselves; the theme of ‘Teamwork and Fun on a Desert Island’ had been well and truly achieved.
